The Challenge: To create a magazine that can be designed and printed in an economical manner, including fiscally and sustainably.
How we did it: With a sheet size based on a standard 8.5" x 11" Letter Size sheet of paper, we were able to make a digest style magazine with bleeds, without having to go to a bigger sheet of paper and minimizing the amount of waste produced.
One color, Black, printing was used to keep costs low, and while it created a challenge to design within the limitations of one color, it made us more creative with our design choices to create visuals that still stood out without the help of color to get your attention.
Manual Dexterity was published between 2005 and 2014, with 20 issues being released.
